First there was distributed computing, Beowulf clusters and all that, now comes... Distributed Disaster! Yes, there IS a way to lessen, if not eliminate, your computing-related pain. It just occurred to me, as I changed contact info for the last of my 6 domain names at NameSecure.com.

I was initially irritated/annoyed at NameSecure for only listing 2 of my domains as belonging to my account, but then a dim bulb lit up in the crevices and caverns of my equally dim brain/mind (I conflate the two here for convenience's sake). I realized I must have used different user names for each of my other 4 domains when I registered them, and so I went back into my archives (lucky for me I keep stuff and am very well organized). Voila: there, buried amidst stacks of papers and stuff, was the user name and password for each of 4 other accounts at NameSecure, 1 each for each domain name.

Then, it occurred to me to try and consolidate all of them into one account for ease of renewal, updating, etc., but then came the epiphany: that would be the WORST thing I could do, 'cause one problem in any of the now-pooled-in-1-account domains would potentially make all of them screwy and render me a slave to NameSecure email/bot-response hell. This way, the worst that happens is one account gets screwed up, but the other 4 can just chug along unscathed. As Marv Albert would say, "Yessssss!"
