R.E.M. began their six-week North American tour last Friday at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver, where they have been working on their next studio album. They have a new collection, In Time: The Best Of R.E.M., 1988-2003, coming out in October.
The second show of the tour, tonight in Missoula, Montana, will be webcast live at 9 p.m. ET on both remhq.com and wilcoweb.com - R.E.M. and Wilco will both be webcast.
With my new speedy computer, I may actually check it out.

I "taped" (actually, took the webcast outa one Mac via the headphone jack, thru my miniDV deck and firewired it into my editing Mac) the webcast...then went to a party and didn't even get to listen to it!
Did review and segment the Wilco portion of the cast, however. A strong show, quite varied, from all their discs, tending toward the moodier stuff toward the end.
Can't wait to hear the REM stuff .
