Great White are now not expected to face any charges themselves, arising out of the fire at The Station Club in Providence, Rhode Island last February. The tragedy claimed the lives of 100 people, including Great White guitarist Ty Longley. However, state prosecutors are likely to push for involuntary manslaughter charges to be brought against both the club owners Jeffrey and Michael Derderian and the band's road manager Daniel Biechele.

That fire was a terrible mess and I can't even imagine being sardined into a place like that. I saw Great White playing larger venues in the 80's (and they were a good act to see live back then), so they must have really fallen off popularity-wise to be playing a place that seated less than 500 :(
And the decision to use pyro in a place this small was utterly criminal. I'm not sure that I agree with just busting the owners on this one. Lots of finger pointing in this sad, sad story.
Some have referred to this as a tragedy but I think when the legal system is done with this, a better term to use for it will be travesty.
