If You Think 34 Is Old, You're Probably Avril Lavigne

Today is my lovely, charming, talented, often-sweet-but-sometimes-flinty, opinionated-but-not-dogmatic, very pregnant and feeling self-conscious about it (December, boy) wife's birthday. She thinks she's getting old - due to the fact that we all age at the same rate, she'll always be young to me. She is a remarkable, loving mother and step-mother, generous, a hard worker, a very fine writer, and the best partner in the world. Happy Birthday, Dawn. Love, Eric

Well, thanks for all of those nice things you said. And you are not at all biased.

Does this mean I am allowed to have some cake?

34? Dang, you're old. Are you going to spend the day shopping for one of those motorized scooter things for you old folks?

#3 — August 15, 2003 @ 15:54PM — Dawn

I may be old, smelly and pregnant, but Al, I can so take your sorry butt.

With or without a scooter.

Hi Dawn,
Reminds me - once an Israeli poet complained to me, "Corinna, I'm old, I'm 69."
I told you, when you'll be eighty you'll look back and say, "How young I was when I was only 69 yrs old."
And guess what: He's now indeed 80 and in a newspaper article it said he's running up and down the stairs as easy as said.
Happy Birthday Dawn. Savor the day.
(By the way, what day in December?...)

Dawn - truly a gifted person. and a perosan easy to care for because of her "i-don't give-afuck-ok-i-really-do vulnerability and parallel strength.

Thanks for the kind thoughts Corrinna and Temple, although I may not be old, I just feel old.

And yes, I do indeed give a fig.

Dawn, you rock. Happy belated birthday. And don't fret -- some of us are older than you.

Yeah, but they all look better ;)

Happy b-day Dawn...anywhere in your thirties is Y-O-U-N-G! Trust me...I've got the big 40 staring me down next year. Still feel 29 of course...

BTW, is Eric Olsen the same Eric Olsen who worked as a promo rep for a major labels in the '90s?

Enjoy your day....
