All Systems Go
Vinnie Vincent Invasion
(Capitol)

More famous for featuring sacked Kiss guitarist Vinnie Vincent and providing the launch pad for the band Slaughter, nonetheless, All System Go is not a bad CD. Marc Slaughter (vocals) and Dana Strum (bass) left Vinnie to go on to form the successful band Slaughter, who had quite a few hits in the 80s. The drummer, Bobby Rock went on to join the critically and commercially acclaimed Nelson. Vinnie on the other hand crawled up his backside and sued Kiss. But I digress, this CD's stand out tracks include "Love Kills", a song used on a Nightmare on Elm Street soundtrack, a power ballad. The opening track 'Ashes to Ashes' is a good hard rocker, that gets things going rather well. There is the ode to liberty 'Let Freedom Rock' an anthemic fist-in-the-air rocker, as well as an ode to wunderlust 'That Time of Year'. While not being essential, this remastered re-release is reasonable priced decent slab of 80s hard rock.

Rating: 3.8
