And stop calling me "Surely"
Published August 11, 2003
Bob Mulholland is a spokesman for the California Democrat Party.
"Schwarzenegger is going to find out, that unlike a Hollywood movie set, the bullets coming at him in this campaign are going to be real bullets and he is going to have to respond to them." warned Mulholland in an interview with a camera crew from ABC NEWS.
Charity would try to believe that he said this innocently, not meaning what he actually said. I'm sure that was only, uh, metaphorical real bullets- which makes no sense.
But that must be it, cause surely this Democrat spokesman wouldn't be openly threatening political assassination- much less to a Kennedy clan member. Even if they were crazy enough to seriously consider such a thing, surely they wouldn't say so in front of news cameras.
Surely, they're not THAT insane yet, are they?
Or is this guy just really, really stupid even for a Democrat?

Oh, you'd respond to real bullets alright- if the first one didn't kill you. It might be by ducking or running or shooting back.

Yes, metaphorical real bullets. You don't "respond" to real real bullets.
Amusing foot-in-mouth quote though, especially with the Kennedy connection.
