I think this is one of the better "screamo" albums that i have heard to date. The fact that they balance screaming with beautifully sung vocals exceptionally well makes them a stand-out in my mind. I especially love the songs "On Building", "Circular Parade", "Light A Match"...but they are all good songs and i would reccomend giving the album a thourough listen.

I get the same kinds of reactions when I talk about the White Stripes. I really just don't get them. I like all kinds of rock music, but I have yet to figure out what makes them so special. That pisses people off as well.

Just so you know, I am not claiming to know everything or anything like that. :-)

I'd glad you enjoyed the album. One of my friends really loves it too and couldn't believe I would give it such a blah review. But that is the way I feel.

I do listen to screamo. It is not my favorite kind of music, but I do enjoy Thursday and would have given their last record a good review (had I been writing reviews at that point in my life). TBM just isn't interesting enough for me. They have a few "perk up the ears" parts, but those are few and even the crappiest bands usually have a few of those.

To me TBM is decidedly mediocre. But because you are fan you can do what you can to null the affects of (ultimately) pointless music reviews and spread the good word.

I think you have done this album an injustice. There are lots of bad screamo bands out there but this band is better than most. Their sense of dynamics is better than the others, the vocals are more consistent because they are provided by two individuals, and the songs are much more urgent and meaningful than most.

In fairness to you (because I don't know what you listen to), I am a fan of this type of music, so I listen to a lot of these bands. Also, I have seen them twice, but I think if you continue listening to this album, you will see that somehow this band sets themselves apart from the rest.

The highlight songs are, "Light a Match," my favorite, "Circular Parade," and an amazing closer, "For a Friend." Better yet, buy the album and then see them live when they come through your area. They are a meaningful intensity.
