Sabbath is "classic rock" or something like that and Metallica would be nothing if it weren't for Diamondhead. I would have to say Maiden and Diamondhead are the most important two Metal bands. ever.

Now many people consider metallica as the greatest heavy metal band but thats not true. It would be Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden. For all metallica fans, metallica wouldn't be metallica if it werent for Iron Maiden and other NWOBHM's bands.Plus metallica now in days are dead their not anymore Heavy Metal that was back in the 80s now metallica is Hard Rock. Now I know Master of Puppets is the greatest thrash metal album without doubt, But if you were to consider the greatest heavy metal albums I would say Paranoid from black Sabbath is without doubt the greatest album, 2. would be The NUmber of The Beast( Also the most important metal album of the 80's, ask any metal proffesional he would tell you yes) and third Would be Master of Puppets.Plus Maiden have what many people consider the greatest metal song ever!!! (Hallowed by thy name)
