The return of Killing Joke

Not only were they as good as their word about the release of the new album (it's apparently due out in the UK next week so will probably appear here soon too), but the first single off the album has been something of a chart hit... and the reviews appear generally positive too. On top of that there's apparently a new rarities thing called The Unperverted Pantomime, which appears to be the old bootleg of that name along with studio material. "Pssyche" finally appears to have made it to CD, but "Birds of a Feather" appears destined to remain in vinyl limbo. This is something I'm looking forward to very much. I just hope they don't do anything silly like release the albums with copy-control, cos I'll be livid at them if they do. There's an official website here now as well.

This is great news. I've been waiting months to see when this would be coming out. From the sound clips on the site, this is going to be a classic after the relatively disappointing Pandemonium and Democracy albums. Althought Jaz does sound strangely like the lead singer of Young Gods on "Death and Resurrection Show" and doesn't reveal that signature growl at all until midway through the other clip.

I would have loved to have seen Martin Atkins back with his huge, pummelling drums, but Dave Grohl'll have to do - he did do a great job with the Queens Of The Stone Age.
