CMU on AC/DC
Published July 24, 2003
Following on from yesterday's story that former AC/DC front man Dave Evans was going on a solo tour - a bit of clarity with regards his successor Bon Scott, who died in the late 70's. Seems we implied he was still alive with the line - "Evans was succeeded by current singer Bon Scott". Scott hashimself been succeeded of course - by current singer Brian Johnson. Anyway, thanks to AC/DC's avid fan base for pointing the error out:
"Gill, Sorry - but after your Angus is dead AC/DC story I've got to say you've just delivered another AC/DC gaff. 'Evans preceded current singer, Bon Scott...'. True, but Bon died in the late '70s and was in turn replaced by Brian Johnson. Just had to let you know - our resident rock critic is howling ... Dave"
"Bon Scott current AC/DC singer? Petty of me, but in light of recent crimes against Angus surely unnecessary. What do you have against them? J"
"It was one thing to kill off Angus Young but now you appear to have resurrected Bon Scott - he can't be the current singer as he's been dead over 20 years. I take it that you have no DC fans in your office. Paul"
CMU Daily editor Gill says: "I play a Gibson SG, so please forgive me".
