The US military has verifiably killed Uday and Qusay Hussein.

First of all, I send MY CONDOLENCES to their families.

It's a good day to be an Iraqi. Much celebratory gunfire on news of the deaths of #2 and 3 on the food chain o' Iraqi evil.

Yet interestingly, Chris Matthews still considers the story with the 16 words in the SOTU about Hussein seeking African uranium to be his main lead Hardball story. That Bush's words turn out to be true and accurate does not dissuade Matthews from thinking this a huge scandal.

It's odd to me that a knowledgeable journalist like Mattthews would think that day 12 or more of this half-assed excuse for a scandal was a more significant story than today absolutely killing two of the three biggest dickheads in the whole country.

I don't even mean this as a criticism of Mr. Matthews. He seems to genuinely believe this one marginally questionable sentence in this six month old speech is some awful wrongdoing. No kind of success on the battlefield, nor any reasonable explanation dissuade him, or many liberals.

Still, if you can't find cause for celebration in the demise of nasty bitches like the Hussein boys, then you've got your priorities all f'd up.

Unreformed hawkish Hoosier hillbilly and sometimes candidate Al Barger runs the still squeezin' down the psychodelic Kentucky moonshine at MoreThings.com, what with the paranoid religious visions and the Pentacostal music and visions of God and Sarah Palin and anarchy running amok and such. Somebody oughta call the cops to report his out of control freedom of conscience. Till they come to take him away somewhere where he can't hurt anyone else, you can check out his weekly column of NEW ALBUM RELEASES.

In addition to general justice - the elimination of two sadistic, randomly brutal, sociopathic, unredeemable spawn of Satan - this should also let much air out of the balloon of "bitter enders," who have clung to some hope of the return of the Baath regime. It should also make it easier to finally get the father, and wake up from this nightmare.

It's been a quarter century plus nightmare, and waking isn't going to be instantaneous. The worst part is over though, and it only gets better from here- though it will be slow.

Or so I hope, anyway.

You guys are so gullible, it just cracks me up. The Hussein boys are dead? What is that, the fifth time this month? Notice how they always die when Bush's poll numbers sag?

If they indeed were killed this time, it shows that they were the two most inept goons imaginable. They fled together to a house owned by a prominent Hussein supporter, which was under 24 hour surveillance? Doubtful people this stupid could inspire or direct any kind of insurgency.

The demise of these two would be like the demise of Charles Taylor in Liberia: a happy event, but of no consequence to the war against terrorism.
