Iron Maiden Live
Published July 22, 2003
As I've come to expect from Iron Maiden, the music was flawless, the set spectacular and the song selection was good. The lightshow was new and different but not unpleasant. Since Bruce Dickenson and Adrian Smith rejoined the band, they've been playing with three guitarists which adds a very fat sound to each song, not to mention a bit more length to already long songs. On most of the songs, at least two of the guitarists play an abreviated solo so they tend to get a little tedious. Not to sound overly critical, since I do enjoy they three-guitar approach but at times it gets a little overdone. Dickenson also has a tendency to get a bit preachy at times. There was one point where he was talking about the forthcoming new album and downloading that I thought would never end. He DID make his little rant worth it with the line, "We know you like to share our music with your friends, which we really don't mind, UNLIKE a certain band that begins with an 'M'." He proceeded to tell everyone that if you liked it to go buy it but if it sucked, don't. I really respected that, quite actually but he was far too long-winded at times.
Here's Nicko McBrain's (Iron Maiden's drummer) take on the show
All in all, this was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time. If this tour is coming anywhere near you, I would highly recommend picking up a ticket. Here's the rest of the dates for the U.S. leg of the tour:

REALLY, now?? I hadn't noticed that "Revelations" was released in 1983, not 1988.
According to the tracklisting on the CD's I own, "Revelations" was, in fact released on Piece Of Mind. However, since you don't seem to own the CD's, here's the info straight from Iron Maiden's website:
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son:
1. Moonchild
2. Infinite Dreams
3. Can I Play With Madness
4. The Evil That Men Do
5. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
6. The Prophecy
7. The Clairvoyant
8. Only The Good Die Young
Piece Of Mind:
1. Where Eagles Dare
2. Revelations
3. Flight of Icarus
4. Die With Your Boots On
5. The Trooper
6. Still Life
7. Quest For Fire
8. Sun And Steel
9. To Tame A Land
You'll notice that track #2 on Piece Of Mind is "Revelations" but yet nowhere on Seventh Son of a Seventh Son will you find Revelations.
As any fool would know.... (or should I misspell it, too?)
