New Elvis album North
Published June 26, 2003
New details are out on the upcoming new Elvis Costello album. From Billboard:
Elvis Costello has dubbed his upcoming album "North." Due Sept. 23 via Deutsche Grammophon, the album is comprised solely of ballads.
"The record begins with a song called 'You Left Me In the Dark' and ends with a track called 'I'm In the Mood Again,'" Costello explains in a statement. "You have to listen to what goes on in between to find out why."
As previously reported, the collection will feature instrumentation ranging from a solo piano to an enormous ensemble.
Three months seems like a long time to wait, but in the meantime we can console ourselves with the 2002 album of the year, When I Was Cruel.
If I may briefly indulge a spot of fan enthusiasm,

Keep up with EC and the new album at his very own news-blog: www.costellonews.com
Here, Craig, let's make that a nice simple hyperlink: Costello News

Great news, thanks Al! It also features jazz great Peter Erskine, whose very presence raises the stakes for this album. Could it be a real jazz album from Elvis?! Has Diana Krall rubbed off on him so quickly? Sounds promising, either way.
