Opening narrow (the usual: New York City, Los Angeles and Cleveland) August 15, "American Splendor" is the film version of Harvey Pekar's comic. The trailer and info about the movie are now online. The Grand Jury prize winner at this year's Sundance International Film Festival, "American Splendor" is as eagerly anticipated as "Crumb".

As Pekar himself might say, "Well, it's about f'ing time..."

After the critical successes of both "Crumb" and "Ghost World", it lifts my heart to see the grand old man of autobiographical comix getting his shot.
