The Two-And-A-Half Towers

If you thought that Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers was long at three hours, wait until you get a chance to watch the Extended Edition DVD, with 43 more minutes of LotR yummies. USA Today has the scoop on many of the added scenes. New special effects, more scenes with Treebeard, some singing, some horse-whispering, and a little bit of fun and games are on the menu, along with the reintroduction of a character who died in the first film.

I suppose he gets paid nothing for the theatrical release, but now he picks up some bank on the DVD! Or is the brief second he appears in the flashback at the beginning of the theatrical release enough to get him paid? I can't keep track of these things!

Another bonus: a revelation of Aragorn's age. I'll just say he can spend his social security check on cheap prime rib at Luby's after 4pm - you'll have to read the article to know by how much.

Phillip Winn is the Technical Director for BC Magazine, which leaves him far too little time to write, which makes every article he writes that much more precious.
