...And Your Little Dog Too

Phillip has very kindly kindly referenced my new MSNBC story on Metallica and the Internet - there is a sub-feature on other bands that goes with it. Thanks!

Many other bands are also taking advantage of the Internet to add value to their packages:

Metallica certainly isn't the first artist to heap extras like video into a CD package, or to give away music over the Internet, just the most prominent and audacious..... [MSNBC]
Mentioned in the story are Live, Weird Al, Dave Gahan, Martin L. Gore, and Jewel. We mention Wilco's cool web extras here.

Shania Twain put out a two-disc album a while back with the third disc available from her website. It was a little odd. The two discs here in the US were basically the same songs mixed country-style and pop-style. They were red and blue disc, with the "green" disc available on the website providing more "Eastern"-style mixes.

I think some countries dropped either the red and blue in favor of the green.
