Update on Owen the Nutless Wonder
Published June 12, 2003
Owen, our juvenile delinquent black cat, has run away.
I wrote about his neutering a while back, and figured he'd adjust to his new status.
He adjusted all right. Out of our lives.
We don't know if he was so pissed that he just took off, or if he languished to death out of despair over his new life as a eunuch. We're kind of bummed, but I have to respect the beast for voting with his paws.

Sorry about Owen, by the way.
Thanks, Eric, I really did like the cat, which is new for me.
Since I've been married, Julie's taken in a pregnant cat, then we got stuck with half her litter -- at one point we had seven! Now we're down to three cats and two dogs -- but two of the cats live over at Julie's Carriage House/Music Studio.
Owen was a funkster, and I thought he'd come around. I guess he really was bummed.
But at least we're not littering.

You can get more details over at Dawn's site, but we "inherited" an old cat from her father, I got fed up with her crapping on the floor in the basement and put her outside. She disappeared for about 36 hours and came back covered in motor oil. She lived about another month - would have been better had she not come back.
