Lucerin Blue - Tales of the Knife

Written by Amber Nussbaum

Lucerin Blue rip off Linkin Park and Papa Roach. They play unoriginal radio rock. It's like Tooth and Nail took the nu-metal cookie cutter and punched a record out of some tasteless cookie dough.

Lucerin Blue bore the crap out of me.

The vocals vary from the pseudo-rap/shout style, to screams, to melodic singing. The riffs can be found on numerous nu-metal records and on any rock radio station today.

The lyrics are boring. The artwork is amazingly cliched for something that came out of Asterik Studio.

This record did not get my foot tapping. Come on, Tooth & Nail, get yourself together. Drop this band and give Starflyer 59 more chances to shine.

That is all.

Tooth & Nail=arrogant, ignorant, phony, copycat jagoffs--ignore their online mailorder, and buy the kick butt Solid State stuff and once in blue moon decent release by T&N on half.com!

You give Papa Roach and Linkin Park credit as if they invented "nu-metal". That's bull. I do agree though, that the new Starflyer is good. But so is this Lucerin Blue record. They had the songs written before they signed to Tooth & Nail, so they obviously weren't given a cookie cutter by the label. If you want to bash new rock, bash Kutless.

sorry to hear that you think that a great, original band like Lucerin Blue could rip off Linkin Park or Papa Roach, when their stuff was written years before anyone heard of either band! also, as others have said, their influences were not nu-metal at all... i happen to know, and you can ask me for sources if you like, that they always listened to rock/hardcore stuff. also, their goal is NOT to produce radio-friendly tunes (although radio play is always welcome), but to provide a genuine pleasure listen. too bad you aren't enjoying it!

Lucerin Blue rocks man..I don't think you listened to the right album..There lyrics are all creative and have meaning and they have their own distinct song. I can't even think of a song I didn't like at all on that entire album..now go listen to the right cd.
