I just got one Toshiba 3505 (exchanged an older vaio laptop for it, under BestBuy's no-lemon policy) Beware this laptop if you like the higer-quality screens on the Vaios. These Toshiba Portege laptops have a screen surface "shimmer" to them, which is probably not bad if you're into gaming, programming, or writing, but if you're a graphic artist, this is MURDER on your eyes. Toshiba needs to quickly make these screens normal laptop screens, or have the same apearance, or make a screen cover that reduces this effect. All I know is when I look at a shade of plain white, and see nothing but thousands of little color-refracted dots (The special screen produces this effect) for more than about 5 minutes, my brain wants to explode. If your eyesight isn't as sharp as mine, you may not care that much. My advice would be, to spend some time with the computer in the store (probably an hour or so will do the trick). That may seem like a long time, but, hell, if you're going to shell out that much $$$ for a computer, you'll want to be VERY sure you can look at it for any length of time. :)
Cheers, -Caj
