Heroes and villains

The American Film Institute have unleashed another of their occasional "100 Best X" lists, with the variable X this time standing for "heroes and villains". Here's the list (link goes to a .pdf) of the winners. All I will say is, Atticus Finch? Look, I'm sure Gregory Peck is a great actor and all but To Kill A Mockingbird was a bore. Is Atticus more memorably heroic than the sheriff in High Noon? And what is Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange doing on the villains list? Are the AFI clowns who don't know where a film was made, or have they just done what they did with their top 100 movies ever list, and introduced a British film hoping no one would notice them trying to claim it as American?
