Greyfield "Soundtrack to the Summer"
Published May 29, 2003
Nothing gets me going quite like good old-fashioned punk rock music. Sure, Blink 182 and Green Day rip off bands have plagued the scene the past few years, but overall, the pure passion and energy that punk rock music displays is a breath of fresh air in the dismal, putrid stench of modern day radio.
So what is all of this punk talk leading up to you ask? Greyfield—the best thing in punk rock this reviewer has heard since The Ramones. So maybe that is a huge statement, but this is a hugely talented band. Precision in all of their instruments coupled with witty lyrics, amazing vocals that are reminiscent of so many of today’s big name punk acts, all tied together with a punk rock image that would rival The Sex Pistols. Search and Rescue Records snatched this foursome up just in time as I am sure by the sheer talent displayed on their first full length, Soundtrack to the Summer, majors from all over the country will be listening carefully and keeping a watchful eye on where these young rockers are headed.
So in conclusion, buy this debut full length from Greyfield--there is absolutely no reason why every punk fan in America (yes, that means all of you Good Charlotte fans too) should not have a copy of this disc for your own CD player, as well as one for your younger brother, your mom and your estranged second cousin.
