"We're witnessing a decline and demand an answer! Has everyone gone country or Hip hop?? Tap your friend or family member on the head and snap him or her out of it! They're being programmed!" - Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante bemoans what he sees as the decline of metal in America.

So much of today's music is whiny and introspective. I don't want to hear about Aaron Lewis (Staind) whine about his problems, I wanna rock and have a good time! Unless you live in a major city, there is no metal station, no metal video channel, but when bands like Anthrax actually tour, plenty of people come out to see them, the market is there, but it is not being supported by the industry as it was 15 years ago.
