Work This! Part 4

Back when I was going to the gym six days a week, I created a mix CD appropriate for my cardio sessions. It was a good one, full of upbeat uptempo music that didn't grow old quickly. Eventually, however, it started to wear. The same disc, over and over and over! Fortunately, about that time I started a twelve-week program that gave me much less time on the cardio machines, so I just shelved the disc.

Now, however, my twelve weeks is up, and I'm going back to the old way of doing things - BodyPump classes and cardio sessions. I don't want to wear out the old workout disc again, so I created a new workout disc. Now I can alternate. The days I feel agressive, I can use the new disc with a rock emphasis. Milder days, I can use the older pop-oriented disc.

And who knows, maybe I'll create a third one someday!

I'll admit that I cheated this time. Last time I took the songs in the order iTunes gave them to me, while this time I deliberately shoved AC/DC down from first to third to give Aerosmith a chance to open the album. After that I took things as they came, in alphabetical order by artist according to iTunes, and I'm very pleased with the result. Not that I've been to the gym over the long weekend, but I've listened to the album a couple of times anyway.

Observant readers might notice that I've mentioned Part 1, and this is Part 4. Where, you might ask, are parts two and three? Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't have cover art for two or three, so I've had to skip directly to this year's mix. Sure, it might be confusing, but it also makes things fun!

As before, this site only converts the first ten ASINs into Amazon links, so you'll have to use the list within the body of the post to get to the rest. That particular White Heart album isn't even available on Amazon, so it's a direct link to the band's site.

Can you tell that the long weekend took a lot out of me? I'm writing in short sentences of nearly-monosyllabic words. It's Dr. Suess DJs a mix disc!
