I love this movie

Amelie may be the best movie I've ever seen. When you tell people your favorite movie is French, they think you're a snob, or gay. When you tell them it's a romantic comedy, they just think you're gay. But, really, it may just be.

The movie is magic. For once, I agree with ZombyBoy about a film. Dude, this guy would rather watch X2 than the new Matrix. But he's right about this one, I like it because of Audrey Tautou, also. But even if it was someone else (besides Andie McDowell) it would still be a good movie. See City of the Lost Children or the one about the cannibal butcher.

But Tautou is really what pushes this movie over the edge from whimsical to magical. She's gorgeous, those beautiful big dark eyes, that adorable smile. Yup, my movie reviews continue along the usual sexist themes.

Matt,

I wholeheartedly agree. This is a wonderful movie. If you have to watch a romantic comedy that wasn't made in the 1940s or earlier, then this is your best bet. Imaginative, warm, I left the theater glowing.

I was going to say I couldn't agree with you more but I've never really understood what that meant.

The colors were great. Loved the guy with the collection of things. She was wonderful. If they'd had a few rainy scenes with lots of umbrellas it would have been perfect.
