Four disappointed fans have launched a $1.8 million lawsuit against Creed because frontman Scott Stapp was allegedly incapable of getting through a single song:

"Creed is alleged to "have failed to substantially perform" on the stage.

Court papers claim Stapp was "so intoxicated" or "medicated" that he was "unable to sing a single Creed song".

He was said to have "left the stage on several occasions during songs for long periods of time, rolled around the floors in apparent pain or distress" and at one point "appeared to pass out".

Jeff Hanson, Creed's manager, was said in the suit to have issued a statement saying the group was sorry for its performance."

I am not defending anyone, but I would like to let you good people know the truth about the Illinois concert. According to a rebuttle filed on behalf of Mr. Stapp complete with physicians notes, Mr. Stapp had a severe reaction to prednisone. Prednisone is a steroid that is used to controll inflamation, but should not be taken longer than a 2 week period. Unfortunately Mr. Stapp was suffering from inflamed vocal cords, and a small cyst on his lymph noid, and due to creed's touring schedule his Dr. left him on it for several months so that he could perform. Usually I would not tend to believe this media hype, but I to suffered a severe reaction to prednisone. My Dr. left me on it for 6 weeks, and I suffered from extreme headaches to mild seizure like fits, not to mention the severe weight gain. Which makes Mr. Stapps claim all the more believable (he blew up like a tic.)Anyway I hope this helps shed some light, and if any of you have to be put on prednisone PLEASE do not take it for a period of more than 2 weeks.

To all you fans out there it is true what was posted about the drug Prednisone. It was totally out of Mr. Stapps control what happened. This drug when taken for long periods of time can have severe effects on the patient if an allergic reaction occurs. The MD who prescribed this medication should have known a little better. Mr. Stapps is a very talented individual and I have never heard of any of his concerts being a flop. This law suit that was made against him is stupid and they should have gotten all the facts together before even attempting to sue him. People are so quick to jump the gun. Get your facts straight ladies and gents.

Well, maybe I'm slow but...I'm a huge fan of Creed, just found out about this lawsuit thing and it really hit me hard. I am a teenager who was recently diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease, and was put on Prednisone as part of a grueling six-month treatment plan. From someone's who's been there, let me tell you: it's nasty. unfortunately, it's the only way the doctors had of saving my life. ..I can totally identify with what Scott Stapp said in the interview, about the fatigue while performing, and just the frustration and embarrassment that go along with taking this medicine. Can't imagine what it must have been like going through that while on tour, and if anything I applaud Stapp for his strength, both physically and mentally, because it must have taken a lot.
As for whether they should have sued...people, he couldn't help what happened to him. Prednisone is NOT something you take just for the fun of it; he clearly was trying to curb a health problem. and I certainly hope everyone has sense enough to consider the whole situation and realize what really happened.

Heh, I'm not sure how long I took it, maybe just a few weeks, but I had an unpleasant reaction with Prednisone. Gave me a stomach ulcer - not fun. This doesn't seem to be a safe med to use...what the hell are we putting in our bodies?
