Best On Screen Team
Will win: Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, and Chris Pontious, Jackass
Should win: Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson, Shanghai Knights
Dark horse: Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, Old School

This is one category where Lord of the Rings doesn't have a chance. The Jackass crew is by far the most likely to pull it off, but don't be surprised by an Old School showing, either. Really, though, nobody in the category had close to the great, joyous chemistry of Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan did in Shanghai Knights, but I don't think they have a chance.

Best Female Performance:
Will win: Kirsten Dunst, Spider-Man
Should win: Queen Latifah, Chicago
Dark horse: Halle Berry, Die Another Day

Kirsten Dunst probably has this one locked up, largely because she's the only person in the MTV age demographic. Halle Berry might pull it out, but I doubt it. And while Queen Latifah had the best performance out of all of them, don't forget--this is the MTV Awards--it's not like a lot of these voters have gone out to see Chicago.

Best Male Performance:
Will win: Eminem, 8 Mile
Should win: Viggo Mortensen, Two Towers
Dark horse: Tobey Maguire, Spider-Man

Eminem probably has this one, as well as the Breakthrough category, just on name recognition alone. On the other hand, the split vote might give some people pause, which might give Tobey the edge in the voting. It may be too close to call, but I think Eminem has the edge.

Best Action Sequence:
Will win: Battle For Helms Deep, Two Towers
Should win: Battle For Helms Deep, Two Towers

No dark horse in this one. None of the other sequences has a prayer of beating the Battle for Helms Deep.

Best Fight:
Will win: Yoda vs. Christopher Lee, Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones
Should win: Yoda vs. Christopher Lee, Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones
Dark horse: Johnny Knoxville versus Butterbean, Jackass

I bought the DVD just so I could watch that fight scene. It's gonna win.

Best Kiss:
Will win: Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, Spider-Man
Should win: Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, Spider-Man
Dark horse: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Daredevil

Usually, the comedic kisses or the lesbian kisses win this category. But there aren't any this year, which makes Tobey and Kirsten a shoo-in. That upside-down kiss might be one of the most memorable kiss scenes of all time. Ben and Jennifer have a shot, but only because that was a great kiss scene, too. But not as good as the one in Spider-Man.

According to The Digital Bits it'll be August for the 2-disc edition, November for the 4-disc edition, just like last time.
