Bad enough they have to remake Casablanca without letting J.Lo star in it...

Hollywood couple J.Lo and Ben Affleck have secured a deal to remake the classic movie Casablanca, according to reports.
The pair are said to be delighted with the multi-million pound deal and are now in talks wirth American producers.
The original film was a hit in 1942 starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.
Affleck will take the romantic lead as Rick, the Daily Star reports.

I should hope so... actually, I've just had an appalling vision of them casting La Lopez as Rick, the owner of the nightclub, and then conflating that role with that of Sam the club pianist so they could exploit her marvellous musical talents. EEEEUUUUWWWW!!!!

Actor Ben is reportedly a big fan of old movies and the project will give him a chance to indulge his passion.

So am I. That's what makes me so aghast at this idea. I've got nothing against remakes per se, of course, but honestly, I can't imagine this possibly being any good. There's an online petition for you to express your horror at the prospect of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck remaking Casablanca. At the time of posting there were 305 signatures (I was number 286). Won't do any good, but you can vent at least...
