Solea - Even Stranger

Three Mileage Records - The look of a yellow mesh jersey with a silk-screened Suzuki logo seems almost playful. Beyond the imagery lies the name Solea (derived from a Miles Davis tune) and the confident singing of Gerrett Klahn (Texas is the Reason).

Five songs isn't usually enough time to vary the sounds of an album but that's just what Solea does. The disc starts off with the perfect soundtrack to walking in the city with friends. From there you get that anthem-like rock sound that's been over done these days. Thankfully Solea does it well, never sounding like a Xeroxed copy of last months "savior of rock". Wrap all this with a surprising experimental track complete with thick warm bass and guitar parts that just fight for your attention.

Even Stranger is a productive work of blue collar song writing wrapped in corporate clean production. Start your summer right and get this.
