The Oscar nominated documentary "Daughter From Danang" airs tonight on most PBS stations as part of "American Experience" after a limited theatrical release. Aaron Barnhart has written it should have won the Oscar.

One thing the filmmakers have emphasized in recent interviews is the film shows that the impact of war lasts for generations. Similar issues are explored in "First Person Plural" which aired on "P.O.V" in 2000 and "Refugee" which will be on PBS at some point. There is an earlier interview with them on the website which is best read after seeing the film.

Steve Rhodes is a journalist and photographer in San Francisco.
