Hate Them Now

Jay-Z and Nas may be two of hip-hop's most gifted rhyme-masters, but according to alternative weekly The New York Press, they are two of the most hated celebrities in the Big Apple. The pair made the newspaper's infamous list of the 50 Most Loathsome New Yorkers. Other music luminaries that made the list include: MTV's overgrown teen VJ Carson Daly; John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono; folkie-poet Patti Smith, Oscar-winner/filmmaker Michael Moore and (ironically?) Roc-A-Wear's new model Naomi Campbell, among others. In regards to Jigga and the self-proclaimed "God's Son," the newspaper cites their past lyrical battles on wax as the reason for the dubious honor: "[These] two lackluster rappers spent years trading various asinine threats . . . It was lame if it was all an act. It was even lamer if they were serious."
