CMU reports:
Rosanne Cash, daughter of Johnny and an acclaimed singer songwriter in her own right, has said she has been "astonished and appalled" at the way the
American press and country music scene responded to anti-Bush comments made by Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines.
Marty: Further along she compares the reaction to Maines' comments as "McCarthyism". First of all, she is not old enough to remember him, and second of all, the backlash against Natalie is fan and not government led. As many people have said in the comments section of Blogcritics and my blog: she had every right to say what she did. However, saying it in London was cowardly and her fans have every right to be mad at her for saying something they disagree with entirely.

Is it a little stupid to respond to the commies bashing the DC critics in this manner? Sure. However, considering their silliness I just figured "sauce for the goose" and all. :)
