The Third Man is officially one of my favorite movies. I think it is so true, all the main characters act in ways that I can really believe in.

I just got the dvd as a gift, and I could watch it again and again.

You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been someone Charley, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. I'm a bum. It was you, Charley.

from "On The Waterfront", and given the recent press campaign for Scorsese, still true. I've not been a big fan of the Oscars since they aren't really about quality, but I've become addicted to the spectacle and the possibility that some actor will completely loose their shit, like Halle Berry last year.

A few years ago I saw a book titled 'Alternative Oscars' or the like. It went year by year and listed the films, actors, actresses and directors that should have won.
