If I have to point to an example of how bad rock music can get in terms of sheer uselessness, I just indicate Bathory. I had to write promo material for them, and my self-loathing reached benchmark levels.

Then again, in that same interview Quorthon claimed the latest Bathory album sold 50,000 copies, which is nothing to sneeze at considering what a limited appeal his music has. And considering how that heavy metal fans will pay extremly high prices for CDs even if they can get the tracks on MP3, I don't think Quorthon is going to have to worry about paying the bills any time soon.
