We are very pleased and honored to receive the Best Weblog About Music award from the 2003 Bloggies!
Not to be sniffed at are the prizes of $20.03 cash American, courtesy of Matt Prescott, and the book Blogging through the good graces of Biz Stone (the flipping author, no less) and New Riders. Thanks guys!

We salute our fellow nominee, super bud, Blogcritic, and tornado of Texas energy Cindy Chaffin for her TexasGigs.com site.
While Blogcritics has expanded to books, movies, TV, video, and assorted ramblings, we began as a music site, and music will always be our foundation. Philosopher Suzanne Langer called music the highest art form because the structure of music mirrors the structure of our emotions - well that, and you can dance to it.

Seriously though--congrats on creating a wonderful salon (and with at least $20.03 in the bank, one that's got to be in better fiscal shape than the capital-S Salon)!

Hey, The Modern Age, which looks like a very cool site and was our fellow nominee, has accused us of being only 1/4 music. By post-count we are more like 1/3 music, ha!, we are 1/4 cleansing cream.
