Voivod, like Therion, are a band who are not to everyone's taste. Those who like them, adore this lot of Quebecois. Amoung their admirers are Iron Maiden (for whom Voivod opened) and members of Metallica. One member of Metallica so admired the band that he is now a member of Voivod. Jason Newsted, now known as Jasonic (the band all have single names), has added his talents to the bottom end of this art-rock metal band. The result is 13 tracks of heavy metal weirdness. It is best to think of a much harder King Crimson, when thinking of this band. Be forwarned, unless your loved ones and friends have very open minds this will drive them away. Voivod are back and delivering the goods. An essential release for those who like their weirdness hard and heavy!
