I have to sheepishly admit: the only reason I got this CD was because I got hooked on "Mr. Blue Sky" from the Volkswagen commercial.
That said: this is a sweet greatest hits CD, full of melodic guitars and swinging strings. Jeff Lynne is a big fan of the orchestral background sound and the violins fill in songs like "Livin' Thing", "Showdown" and "Sweet Talkin' Woman." "Turn to Stone" and "Evil Woman" are also evocative favorites. This CD is in my heavy rotation at least for awhile.

i have listened to ELO for most of my music life(32yrs) and i find ELO the best band in the world along with WINGS (PAUL MCCARTNEY?.
the best way to enjoy ELO is buy the DVD ZOOM tour, fabulous.
my favourite songs are tightrope and ordinary dream along with evil woman.
