Townshend I stopped ignoring them and began to actively despise them. I'm sure I'll mangle the verbiage a bit but the gists were: "The other day I was playing the guitar and I was astonished at how good I am. But then I'm equally good at many other things." Another time at a concert in England given for their equivalent of the Boy Scouts he said, "It's become quite popular of late to say things about people who've passed away so I'd like to be the first to say, I fucked John Lennon."
