Last Second Against All Odds
Published February 10, 2003
Music is a funny thing. An original sound comes out and everyone loves it. Months later, hundreds of bands follow in their predecessor's footsteps, and a phenomenon known as "falling off of the face of the planet" happens.
Vanishing Point Records artist, Last Second, really, never should have been signed. The vocals are off, the guitars are monotonous, and the drums are average. This is the problem with music, not enough people are original, and then, individuals end up spending their money on a disc better suited for a coaster than for putting in a CD player.
One good point on this CD is the vocals on one lone song. The band attempts to do hardcore, and, strangely enough, nail it. The song is both well played and well vocalized. If Against All Odds wants any credibility in this current music scene, full of lobotomized clone bands, they should stick with hardcore music. They seem to have a knack for it. Well, either that or they just don't have a knack for punk.
