We're A Happy Family

The Ramones Tribute Album, featuring covers from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rob Zombie, U2, Marilyn Manson, Tom Waits(?), is finally set to hit stores in February.
You that know me realize that my love for the Ramones is only exceeded by my love for the Beatles. Thus, I am not holding out a ton of hope that any of the listed acts will get it right. For example, have you ever seen U2 not be serious? You can't play "Beat on the Brat" without your tongue firmly planted in your cheek! So, either they are going to get all maudlin and "This is a tribute to all the abused children of the world, man" OR they're gonna look stupid. The only one that looks right to me is Kiss doing "Rock and Roll Radio."
We shall see.

i would expect Tom Waits to do a grand cover.
peace.
I love Tom Waits. I just didn't expect him on a Ramones tribute for some reason.
hehe. granted, i've only heard his cd "Alice", but that seemed to seep with attitude... which is what all that real punk is.
peace.
Actually the Ramones covered "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" by Waits on on of their albus ("Acid Eaters" maybe?) so maybe he's returning the favor.

"I Don't Want To Grow Up" was on their great swansong studio album, Adios Amigos.
I'd rather hear U2 cover something by The Ramones than a lot of those other acts.....
*cringe*
