Jobs for The Man

Steve Jobs has declined the job, and Bill Gates breathes a sigh of relief.
However, one thing about this story sticks out:
"He has the charisma and the will to power but not the diplomatic skills needed to govern effectively in a democracy," Deutschman said in an e-mail. "He'd probably tell a number of important senators that they were bozos. I think Steve's better off as a corporate CEO, a position more akin to benevolent dictator than to president."
I thought the point of democracy was to tell people they were bozos, to participate, not to vote for the slate of the board of directors, to be more than shareholders, but to be citizens.
Maybe I've been listening to too much Roky Erikson, but when did zombies and vampires take over the world?

oh, man, I'd pay money for that! Oh, wait, I already do through the Canadian tax system which doesn't pay one red cent to the vampires in the insurance industry.
Now, if they tried to recruit Woz, boy howdy!

The State of the Union would be far more entertaining with Jobs as president. And people would stick with it til the end as he says, "and just one more thing... my product er policy team has come up with a simple workable plan for universal health care."
