From the Globe and Mail, earlier this week:
U.S. Ambassador Kevin Moley, who did not open his mouth during the meeting, rushed out to tell journalists that he was "deeply disappointed" by the outcome, especially as it occurred on Martin Luther King's birthday."It was not a defeat for the United States. It was a defeat for the Human Rights Commission, a defeat for the system which allows countries with egregious, abusive records on human rights to become members of the commission," Mr. Moley said.
Asked about what sort of standards countries should be asked to fulfill, he pulled out a tiny red book, and pointing it to the cameras, said, "The best guarantee for human rights in the world is the Constitution of the United States."
And then he realized he put the wrong little red book in his pocket. Or maybe it was this one.
An addendum, the Little Red Book tells us "It is right to rebel"
