The author of The World's Most Dangerous Places has been kidnapped in Columbia. From the Globe and Mail:


It's right there in Chapter 23: "The most likely place to be kidnapped is Colombia," adventure writer Robert Young Pelton penned in his best-seller The World's Most Dangerous Places.

No doubt the words echo in his head today, for Mr. Pelton has been abducted in Colombia and was in the custody of a warlord of the type he has long told people how to avoid.

Mr. Pelton, a native of Edmonton, was travelling with two colleagues in the lawless border area between Panama and Colombia when they were abducted by right-wing Colombian paramilitaries.
