Evergreen Terrace Buried Alive By Time
Published January 19, 2003
Evergreen Terrace’s second full-length effort, Burned Alive By Time, is a collection of spectacular songs with thought-provoking artwork, definitive guitars, and at times, amusing lyrics.
Hailing from Floridia, the band has two previous efforts-- a full length on Indianapoli Records, and a split with hardcore band, xonefifithx. This newest release however, on a bigger and more widely known label, Eulogy Records, is what is going to push these rockers past the ho-hum hardcore scene, straight into the spotlight.
The album begins with a furious barrage of guitars, drums and vocals. The listener is immediately immersed in a molten pot of heavy metal. The harder the listener tries to resist, the deeper into they sink into the world that ET has created. The album continues this way through its entirety, with one minor exception, the techno loops that encompass track 9. Don’t worry techno-haters; the brief tryst with techno gives way to the unbelievable track, Heavy Number One (a.k.a. shizzle my nizzle), which is quite possibly the best track on the album.
As a special treat, the boys who brought us the U2 cover from their first full-length, try not to disappoint with a hidden track, which is a cover of Depeche Mode’s All I Ever Wanted. Way better than the original (which is an INCREDIBLE compliment), this track shows off lead vocalist, Andrew Carey’s rich vocal talent, as well as shows America what can happen when this song is played while the artists aren’t under the influence.
Overall, Evergreen terrace’s newest album is a great buy. It is 37 minutes of pure listening enjoyment that is guaranteed to satisfy any listener who has even the slightest interest in the hardcore scene.

Yeah, I always get the songs "Friday I'm in love" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" confused for some reason. Thanks for pointing it out though. Oh, and next time leave your REAL email address so I can thank you in a non public forum. Thanks!
