Hand Colored - Homebasics

I guess I could be influenced by the fact that Bradley Spitzer is a nice guy, or we linked to a number of his written work. His work stands on its own, no matter the medium and the same can be said for this personal zine.
Remember the days of sweat soaked punk shows and news print zines? Well, this is neither of those things but it clings tightly to that whole personal zine agenda from back in the day. The work doesn't look to interview the hot band or review the latest CD but is rather the printed version of todays modern blog. Is it that it's dated the minute we read it or the fact that blogs on the web are updated every second that killed this print medium? I care little either way because this is something you need to hold in your hand.
In that, much can be said for printed published work. I can tell all my friends about my website but when they go home and turn on turn on The Daily Show I lost. If you hand someone a zine or a book they have no choice. They're engaged. Hand Colored wins like that.
There's no earth shattering design, words that have never been uttered, or mind bending theorems on music consumption and the scourge that is the RIAA. None of that. What you'll find is someone who invested some time, energy, and paper-cuts putting something together to engage you. Victory.
