Alexia

There is an amazing article in the Globe and Mail about author Howard Engel, who, after a stroke last year could no longer read. The condition called alexia got him in contact with Dr. Oliver Sacks.

"I did the whole hospital routine and then the rehab routine and when they flushed me back out on to the street, I was walking, talking and able to do everything but read."

Engel is in therapy and is working on a new Benny Cooperman book, drawing on his own experience.
