"There Are a Few Obstacles"

Like the "Kim: Rot in Pieces" tattoo, the murderous lyrics, she having someone else's baby, but love conquers all according to Eminem's grandmother:

Betty Kresin told The Post from her home in Missouri that Kim has moved back into the controversial singer's mansion in suburban Detroit.

"They're back together," Kresin said, "and I think Marshall [Eminem's real name] is very happy about it.

"He loves Kim and Hailie [their daughter], and Kim is the mother of his child. Marshall is a terrific father and very family-oriented. I'm not surprised he'd want that stability."

Since Eminem's split with Kim, he has been romantically linked to a number of stars, including singer Mariah Carey.

The divorced duo had been sharing custody of 6-year-old Hailie Jade since their spectacular 2000 marriage meltdown.

The high-school sweethearts were wed in 1999, but the marriage was a time bomb. The final straw was reportedly Kim's suicide attempt at their home.

Granny hopes for the best for Marshall and says her daughter sucks:
"I want him to enjoy his life," Kresin said of her famous grandson. "Everybody deserves a piece of the pie."

...."I just wish she would go on television and say to her son, 'Marshall, I'm on TV to tell you I was not a good mother. I know I wasn't good to you,'" Kresin said.

From the position of one who had (and has) really terrific parents, it's easy to say "quit whining," and "get over it," and see his rants against his mother as somewhat exploitative and manipulative of his audience. But the dude clearly has real issues and maybe his giving voice to those issues will give a few bad mothers (and fathers for that matter) pause and improve a life or two. That would be good.

Eminem And Kim Over - Again
June 7, 2003

Rapper Eminem's on-off love affair with childhood sweetheart Kim Mathers is over - after a series of blazing rows. The star rekindled his romance with ex wife Kim for the sake of their daughter Hailie, but, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper, the controversial hip-hop star has now left the family's $1.5 million Detroit, Michigan, home. The pair have been embroiled in a series of bitter arguments in the run-up to his world tour, and Kim is reportedly furious with Eminem - over his decision to use seven-year-old Hailie in a confrontational song aimed at rap rival Ja Rule.A source close to the hitmaker tells the tabloid, "He and Kim really wanted to make a second go of things but it just isn't happening. Their relationship is one of love and hate. They can't live with each other yet they can't live without each other."It was for Hailie's sake more than anything else that they reconciled. They were even considering getting remarried at some point in the near future but they both realized that would have been a big mistake."What's important to Em is that he sees Hailie regularly - he loves her more than anything. At the moment he's manic, rehearsing for his world tour and can't wait to get that started. There's no one else involved but it seems he and Kim will never sort out their differences."

ANGRY EMINEM WANTS CUSTODY OF DAUGHTER

. . . after ex-wife arrested again, says insider

EMINEM wants Kim out of his life for good, says pal.
Eminem is furious over his ex-wife Kim's latest run-in with the law and wants to end their explosive relationship for good, a close friend says.
The rapper flew into a rage after cops found two bags of a white, powdery substance believed to be cocaine in Kim's car during a traffic stop June 10 outside Detroit, Mich., the family friend told The ENQUIRER.
The material was taken to the Michigan State Police crime lab for analysis. "If it is found to be cocaine, the information will be turned over to the Macomb County prosecutor's office for the issuance of an arrest warrant," St. Clair Shores Police Lieutenant Bob Sass told The ENQUIRER.
Eminem -- real name Marshall Mathers III -- divorced Kim in 2001, but the two later reconciled. Kim, 28, and the couple's 7-year-old daughter Hailie now live with the singer at his mansion near Detroit.
"Marshall loves Hailie so much, he would do anything for her, and that's why he got back together with Kim," the family friend said. "They were going to remarry, but they recently had another big blowout and he decided not to go through with it.
"Now, after this latest escapade, Marsh wants Kim out of his life for good, and he's decided to ask for full custody of Hailie. He said, 'Kim is over.' "
Kim previously had been arrested on a drunk-driving charge and was busted on a cocaine-possession charge in July 2001. She was charged with driving with a suspended license after the June 10 traffic stop that triggered the latest drug investigation.
"Kim makes Marshall's life a living hell," the family friend said.
Eminem, 30, is currently touring Germany, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and he was in Europe at the time of Kim's arrest.
"He is sick of Kim's antics," the insider said, "and hates having to answer to her for what he says and does with Hailie."
In June 2000, Eminem caught Kim kissing another man and threatened them with a gun. He was given two years' probation for assault and carrying a concealed weapon. "Marshall has completed his probation and considers himself a free man again," his friend said. "That's why he will seek full custody of Hailie and feels he can win."
