Lost His Chops

Laim Gallagher of Oasis may be gumming his food for a while:

Liam Gallagher, wild man vocalist of British rock band Oasis, lost several teeth in a punch-out in a Munich hotel over the weekend, during which he kicked a police officer in the ribs, German police said Monday.

The fracas was the latest in a string of misadventures involving the 30-year-old, who has revived not only Britain's tradition of rock 'n' roll but also the associated taste for mayhem.

"The boy didn't look good, several of his teeth were punched out," said Munich police spokesman Christoph Reichenbach.

Gallagher's spokeswoman said he would be spending much of the day in a dentist's chair, while a German promoter said a Hamburg gig planned for Monday night had been canceled because his injuries were "too severe."

Gallagher doesn't seem to get it: It's important for a musician to gain new chops, instead of losing them.
