Three Cheers for the Olsen Women
Published November 29, 2002
I am super proud of the two oldest women in my immediate family. My wife Dawn prepared a full-blast Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all of the trimmings in our new house for 13 people - our first holiday in the new abode. A total success all the way around, as evidenced by the bodies lolling about on the floor for hours afterward, eyes glazed, midsections protruding.
Simultaneously several hundred miles away, my daughter Kristen prepared a similar turkey dinner for 19 of her Americorps cohorts stranded away from their families. They even had to do some random plucking of their rural southern Virginia bird. Way to go, sweetie, can't wait to see you in three weeks.

Well my mom deserves mention on general princples, but I was cheering specifically those who prepared Thanksgiving dinner, one for the very first time.

Mine was plucked already and graciously paid for by the THIRD OLSEN woman you forgot to mention - your MOM.
Thanks!
