Street Art

I am a big fan of found art - in fact, our family makes weird little sculptures from bits and pieces of man-made and natural objects.

As a result, I find this photo series of juxtaposed and overlapping posters, stickers, graffiti and stencils from SoHo particularly evocative and appealing.

Billie Holiday lives, but apparently the the photographer doesn't recognize her, unless his title - "Woman With a Flower" - is meant to be ironic.

I also like the multiple authorship of these assemblages: whoever comes along last gets to frame and comment upon all that went before.
