PETA vs. Victoria's Secret = No Contest

Victoria's Secret "Christmas Dreams and Fantasies" fashion show was interrupted by a PETA protest:

Activists for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals rushed the stage as Gisele Bundchen strutted down the runway in a beaded bra and panties, thigh-high black stockings and red strappy heels. The four female protesters, carrying signs that read "Gisele: Fur Scum," shouted at the supermodel as she calmly completed her runway turn.

The protesters were taken away, the lights went down and the segment of the show that was interrupted was redone. As Bundchen strode out for the second time in the outfit, the audience erupted into applause for the composed supermodel.

The dramatic confrontation was oddly fitting in a show that featured tried-and-true black lace numbers as well as everything from clear go-go boots with Day-Glo lingerie to fur caps paired with moccasin boots. And wings, lots of wings.

"This year we really worked much harder to develop a connection with hot-off-the-runway products," said Grace Nichols, president and CEO of Victoria's Secret Stores.

Longtime Victoria's Secret model Heidi Klum and Sugar Ray front man Mark McGrath served as hosts, while R&B trio Destiny's Child sang "The Eight Days of Christmas" and salsa singer Marc Anthony performed "Tragedy."

With the redo, the protest will never make the TV broadcast on CBS November 20, but it sure would be fun if it did: the bellowing loons in contrast to the cool and collected supermodel would speak volumes about perspective.

I would also like to see a counterprotest from PETS: People for the Ethical Treatment of Supermodels.

Yes, PETS were there. We took our duty seriously, consoling Heidi Klum and Gretchen Bundchen and making sure they were okay before being released into their natural environment. We continue to monitor them to ensure their well-being.

It seems PETA only attacks were it doesn't need to, I am sure there was a save the gerbils of the jungle protest they could have went to. Losers.. Not to sound rude, but a runway isn't anywhere PETA needs to be. They sit down go eat a veggie bugger. No everyone is going to be fur free get over it, flipping losers

I personally don't think real fur should be used. Faux fur is just as nice if not better because it doesn't kill an animal to use it. Would someone kill their dog just to have it's fur? If they were nuts maybe. I just don't see the point in it. Now, yes, some people take things to the extreme, but sometimes, substitutes are better, not only for the rapidly dying environment, but for the models and the industry as well. Everyone needs to save their money, and that can be easily done by using safe materials that don't smell like dead animals.

i wouldnt kill my own dog. Hell na. Dog fur does not compare to mink.

Kayla-

It's interesting you say that, because less than a year later, Victoria's Secret has gone fur free. Looks to me like you're the only "flipping loser" now. :-)

How can any body who has done any research justify using real fur for fashion? The things that go on at fur farms are truly sickening and appauling (google it and find out for yourself). Beautiful once wild animals suffer terribly only to become a piece of clothing. I have nothing to do with PETA but I think it it crazy to cage wild animals then kill them in order to wear their skin. How selfish can people be?

I agree, its the animals and all the abuse and suffering they have to go through for your dark and ugly selfishness! Its a f***ing disgrace!
I don't judge for how someone looks alone, thats not what peoples problem with this is....Its mainly about unfair abuse for your naive asses!
